I wish I could tell you that Andy fought the good fight, and the Sisters let him be. I wish I could tell you that - but prison is no fairy-tale world.

I just wanted to comment on the Hippie thing. I seriously dislike the modern Dead Head hippies. I doubt many of those people are here, as most of live on the street, or traveling and selling drugs and promoting unproductive drug culture. Not saying drugs are bad, as certain one certainly changed my life. But as someone who is much more into the Music, than the scene, as usually its the opposite; I agree with with Andy on that point. As for the slave thing, yea I agree too, their music is just too good to not be enslaved in a way. But why the hate, it just never stops, my hands aren't clean though.

very good point! i know very few deadheads in 2011 who i would consider "hippies." most deadheads i know are just your average business folk. i'm amazed at how many doctors i've found that love the dead.

at shows you still see the hippies, especially before and after the show. in talking to these "hippies" i've found out that very few of them only follow GD bands though. makes sense though. i can't imagine someone following furthur or dso around the country. but they usually have pretty varied taste in music and have lots of other bands they see too.

today you wouldn't recognize most deadheads just by looking at them. we finally blend in with the rest of society. a lot of us are probably reformed hippies, but overall the amount of hippy deadheads has certainly faded over the years.
